I recommend the Fred Hembeck Omnibus. It's a massive book that'll take you a year to read. The auto-bio stuff is my favorite. It's also a history lesson for comics-lovers as well as chock full of thousands of Hembeck comics. I read some of it growing up...but it's nice to see it collected for a good price.

  5. I've been reading it off and on for about a year and am not even halfway done. It's massive. I was reading it today and yesterday. Right now I'm in the mid-eighties when I was at the height of my superhero buying days, so it's fun to read what Fred was writing about them.

    He did not like Crystar.

  7. Hembeck always hits it out of the park - his issue of "Spectacular Spiderman" back in the mid-eighties during the infamous "assistant editors month" left a huge impression on lil' me.
